E and Wat for?

Sean and Mom rested while E, Dad, Susu and Jon went to the largest of the temples in Bangkok. After an overly priced taxi ride (he actually kept going out of the way to run up the bill) we spent a long afternoon walking around Wat Pho. Elizabeth mostly enjoyed herself although she's getting to the age where she does not want to be in the stroller all the time and prefers to go her own way. That, coupled with no nap, can equal a tantrum or two ... and for the enjoyability of the afternoon those moments have been edited out.

Sean at two weeks

Whoops! We have not forgot about you Sean, but your sister is up and out and doing all these things and you are just sleeping, eating, and making poop. Let's focus on those activities for a moment .. or at least one of the three.

Jim Thompson's House

Well E we traveled to a relatively easy tourist spot in Bangkok today. We took the skytrain to the Jim Thompson House. We toured the grounds but when it was time to take off our shoes and enter the house you had other plans. Mainly running around the gardens and whining if you were made to stay still too long. Finally you fell asleep in dad's arms and then the stroller. We watched the boats pass on the klong and dad even got some pineapple. It was a wonderful trip

A walk in the park

E, you spent a couple hours in the park with susu and jon. It was really good for you to have a space to run around for a bit. Collecting leaves, making new friends, and being photogenic seem to be your hobbies. I believe after this you went to the Emporium mall where you had the time with yourself in the mirror but dad has these all wrong.

E packs to go

Some Sean Face Time

Shopping at the Suan Lum Night Bazaar

Farthing Grandparents , dad and E went to the night market to do a little light shopping. Elizabeth did not want to stay in the stroller for most of the time and ended up on dad's shoulders a lot. Now he understands why his neck is killing him right now. You did however enjoy getting in the Songkran spirit, did a little dancing show at the restaurant (Safari Streak), get a new snowglobe watch shaped like a crab, and gets lots of ohhs and ahhs from the Thais around. You also had a great conversation with mom on the phone in the taxi ride home.

More E and S together

E came by today and really started to warm up to the idea of a new brother. Well either that or she's happy because everyone suddenly is given her lots of yummy treats. Today you learned that the baby is on wheels, how to disinfect your hands, and that you still can't climb on mommy. Plus we got the 1st family photo ... big day! You went home with grandma and grandpa and even if you cry a little you get over it because they are so much fun!

Here she enjoys a cracker

Sean Meets the Family

Grandparents Farthing and E dropped in to say hello about 7 hours after Sean arrived. Elizabeth was asleep when she was strollered in to the room. The grandparents got a good visit and when Elizabeth woke up she took a while to take it all in. It's been great having the grandparents here but it's still tough to spend time away from little E for even littler S. It's a bit overwhelming for her and we can't wait to get back to being a complete family .. even if it is in a hotel.

Introducing Sean Joshua McEwen

Your new brother arrived April 12th 2010 at 7:05am. You got to meet him later that day. I'm not quite sure how this blog is going to change now that their are two of you but but I'm sure you two are going to have lots of adventures together. Love you both so much - mom and dad

Easter Brunch 2010

Just a week before the arrival of the new baby brother, we decided to go to a nice hotel and have an Easter brunch. We choose this hotel because they advertised "child friendly" activities. So we whisked you off with a brand new Easter dress and sunglasses to a fun filled morning of balloon animals, face painting, a bouncy castle that you were a wee too small for (but we figured out a way for you to participate), a magician, and an egg hunt. There were close to fifty other kids and they quickly ran out of baskets even before it started so we shuffled you into the area early before they started to give you an edge. The food was incredible and I know you would have loved the dessert area ... we tried everything they had!

These are attempts at getting an Easter brunch photo ... you just were not having it.

My shoes! Geeeeeechs!

No comment!! Not very lady like!

we so serious? CHHHHHEEEESE!

What's this? nooooo!!!!

Maybe next time...

First Movie Experience

We took you to How to Train Your Dragon and you loved it. This is after a full day of no-napping and being wheeled all over the mall but you held up well. Before going into the theater though we had a bit of a worry when you started whining about not getting a cherry Icee and juju bees but after a little explaining that we weren't in the states you calmed down. Actually you sat in mom's lap the whole time and ohhed and ahhed and were pretty excited through the entire movie. At least there were no previews or commercials because that might have put you over. We did have some caramel corn and pretzel sticks but we did not have to break out the m&m's.No we didn't see it in 3D but we did see some 3-d TVs at the mall and they made us queasy enough not to want to see dragons in 3D. The movie was surprisingly awesomerific.... it's amazing what they can do these days!

m&m fishing

I don't quite know how to explain this one to you E, but dad sure loves doing it. You see, well .. we are on vacation and .... no I won't try to dignify this one. Love you bunches and probably love candy as much as yo do as well.
